We got to visit Ford’s Theatre to see the historic playhouse where Abraham Lincoln was shot by John Wilkes Booth, an American stage actor who assassinated the President. The we crossed the street to see the house and bed where Lincoln died. Amazing.

A day that started at 4AM, so that we could get to The White House on time, ended with a very funny performance of Sheer Madness. The kids had loads of fun with this interactive show at the Kennedy Center.

Before heading off to see Sheer Madness at the Kennedy Center, we made a quick stop to see the Einstein Memorial. Legend has it if you rub Einstein’s nose you’re IQ would go up by 10 points. Of course many of the kids had to do it.
A trip to The Newseum. A museum dedicated to the way news reporting has evolved and how some of our country’s biggest stories are covered and continue to be covered.
Even though the dome of the Capitol Building was under renovation, we still went in and had a great time. So much to see in the place where country’s leaders meet.
We had a great dinner at the Dobbin House Tavern. After a long day following a red-eye flight, it’s time to get some sleep.
